Cave Explorations

Besides seeing the Chaces, the highlight of our trip was exploring a couple of caves. The first cave we went in was with a tour guide. It was pretty cool.
Here we are at the entrance of the first cave that we went in.
Another cave that we explored was NOT with a tour guide (unless you count Mark and Casey) and there were no lights except for your flashlight. Hailey and I got about 20 minutes in when Hailey noticed some bats on the ceiling of the cave. She refused to go another step so we left and let the others continue on. They had to crawl on their hands and knees in some parts and had to squeeze in between rocks. They finally came out when the bats starting flying to close to their heads. This picture is in front of the cave entrance.

Back at the ranch...

Here we are all after our hour ride through some beautiful Kentucky country side. The weather couldn't of been more perfect and the scenery was incredible.
The Barnes Family
The Chace Family minus Jacob (he was too young to go with us)

Horseback riding

One of the highlights of our trip to Kentucky was to go horseback riding with the Chaces. We all rode a horse that seemed to fit our own personalities. Hailey got to ride on Oreo.
Whitney riding her horse - Wally.
Tyler first words as his horse, Altlas was being led into the corral - "Woah! Slow down!"
I was riding "Captain" - how appropriate since I've been told a time or two that I'm bossy.
Casey rode the biggest horse I have ever seen - Little Jake.

Spring Break '09

This Spring Break we did something a little different - instead of heading south to the beach we headed north to Kentucky! On our way to Kentucky we hit a "blizzard" in Tennessee and had to pull over on the highway and take a picture.
One of the reasons we went to Kentucky was to visit our good friends, The Chaces. On our way we stopped off at Kentucky Down Under where we were able to experience a little bit of Australia and explore a cave. Here we are at the entrance of a cave.
Once Kentucky Down Under was mentioned as part of our road trip, Tyler had been dreaming of petting a real, life kangaroo.
Whitney and Hailey petting the kangaroo.
Not to be left out, Casey and Erin had to pet the kangaroo also.

After 4 1/2 years we finally got to play in some Georgia snow!!!

Tyler throwing a snowball.
Hailey trying to stay warm even though it was so cold and windy outside. We drank lots of hot chocolate during the day.
Hailey, Whitney, and Jordan playing in the snow.
Snowball fight!!!
More snowball fight....

The Prices spend the night

Emily and Hailey watching Saturday morning cartoons together.
All the girls sleeping in Whitney's bed with their monkies, all named Mr. Peepers.
Whtitney and Jordan playing around.
All the boys watching a movie on the laptop...except for Jackson. :)

It's been a while but here's a couple of things we've been doing

Once the leaves started falling off the trees, the rakes and neighbor kids came out and soon big huge piles of leaves were raked and jumped in. They came up with all kinds of games to play.
The most favorite game to play was "everyone run and jump in at the same time."
They raked some pretty big piles.
Whitney played on an indoor soccer team in between fall and spring season. Indoor games are really fun to watch because everything happens so fast.
